question about 'something borrowed'

my aunt just passed away, and her husband gave my mom her engagment ring and wedding band, and i have my grandmothers cocktail ring (it was made out of her wedding band and engagement ring) i am having the 3 rings melted down to make my wedding band..

can that count as my something borrowed?

I think so.

Are you giving it back?
I would say its something old... IMO.

Since you won't plan on giving it back, I would say no.

It would be something old, though!

BTW, *beautiful* sentiment.

I think it would better for the 'something old', but regardless, it's a beautiful idea!

I think it is such a beautiful thing to do, but would have to agree with the girls, that its 'something old', not borrowed

IMO borrowed means something you have to give back. For example, when i was my cousins MOH, her something borrowed was my diamond earrings for her second hole. She HAD to give them back to me (or she owed me a lot of money...haha). It should be something that someone gave to you and you have to return after the wedding!

I agree with the idea that it could be your something old but not your something borrowed. I myself was having a hard time finding my something borrowed so I 'borrowed' my mother's Chanel No.5 perfume for the day. I don't know if that was technically a something borrowed but I figured it was good enough!
