Question about Sonic

The french fries thread made me think of this; I have a question about Sonic and it might be stupid, but I have to know!
I've only been to Sonic once - they have one here by our new house. DH and I went to get some ice cream one night, and after the girl dropped off our order at the car DH says, 'you were supposed to tip her'. I was like, huh?

So, are you supposed to tip at Sonic?

ya you are, but i usually tip whatever change is leftover. call me cheap!

Well, we only spent like $5, so it wouldn't have been much of a tip anyway

Why didn't he tell you them or just hand over the $ himself?

Why do you tip? It's not like a drive through? Is it like 50's style car-waitress service?

Heather, you pull into a parking spot and there's an order board (like at a drive-through). You place your order and then just sit there and wait for them to bring your food out.
Clay didn't have any money on him......and I guess he thought I'd been to Sonic before.

We were lurvin' Sonic when we visited my mom and yes, we tipped - I think!!!

We went in FL! Great burgers and shakes! I don't think we tipped, but we didn't know any better...

Arby's makes a little more sense though, b/ c they are in NJ & there is one in Queens & one in Rockland county.

There used to be an Arby's in hempstead..now there's one in middle village.

I don;t get it. stupid sonic commercials..those ice drinks look sooo good

I know! They don't even have any in any states around here
-- I checked the website. :blush. I don't know why they advertise--are they national commercials?
