do you mean people who do readings at the ceremony?
the people who are doing readings at my wedding are not in my bridal party.
you can do whatever you want. it's your wedding.
if you are talking about people who will make a toast at your wedding---you might want to keep that short since it could cut into valuable PARTY time

I have 2 people doing readings at my wedding that are not in the bridal party. I have my florist making them a boutenierre & a corsage. I think that will tie them into the whole thing!

Yes, if you have multiple speaches --keep them SHORT!

My friend had her MOH (15 yea old sister) read a poem she wrote, and the Best man
(brother of groom)spoke, then a bridesmaid (bride's best friend) and a groomsman
(grooms best friend)and then the Bride's father. (We're not sure if that was planned.)Those of us who didn't know msot of these people, were talking amongst ourselves for most of it.

we're having two readers at our ceremony. both are godparents.
the reception we're having two toasts. one by BM and one by MOH.
the only other person who might say something at the reception would be FH or I (towards the end to thank everyone for being part of our day)

Yes, the best man gave a speech, but my brother and my husbands Uncle both said a prayer, which was more like a speech and we LOVED it!!!
You have whatever you want!!! My best friend since I was 9 ( Im 33 now) was going to also give a speech, but chickened out at the last minute..you do whatever makes you happy!!!

AAAAAaohhh......

Those dreaded speaches..some people can chat all through the reception, while others...get nervous from all the people. I don't personally mind if certain people speak or not. The last wedding I went to, they had a portable video camera..going around each table for all the shy people who did not want to talk out loud to toast the bride and groom.

I went to a wedding where the B&G asked several people to speak. It was nice to hear from so many people but 2 of them spoke for a very long time.

If you have more then 2 or 3 speakers, I would ask them to keep it concise.

sure why not.

I don't know how it really works. I've only seen best men speak, but my sister apparently wants to say something (she's my moh - i don't konw if i am ready to hear what she wants to say, she can get too mushy sometimes), and FFIL wants to say something....so maybe my dad will say something....don't know.

I don't want it becoming a bit speech-a-thon.

As long as you don't mind a few people talking, then give the names of the speakers to the DJ before the wedding so he can properly announce that they want to share a few words or make a toast.

definately... the only thing the dj/band will tell you is to remind the speakers to keep it relatively short.. to leave time for dancing and all..
