Question about STD's

Just wondering how everyone put the addresses on their Save the Dates. Are they just as formal as the invitation or can I write them like a Christmas card type thing?

I hand wrote mine b/c I had a whole theme going and used black envelopes so I had to use a silver pen but I did use silver return address labels.

They are informal from what I read so do what is easiest for you.

I am printing the addresses on labels from the computer. It does not need to be as formal as the invitation.

SonicStef designed them for me. I had my STD cards printed on shutterfly.com

I wrote them out as
Richard and Mary Smith
or
The Smith Family

BUT make sure you do not write anyone's name that is not being invited to the wedding! The Smith Family means kids and all.

Re: Question about STD's

We just did ours yesterday and printed out mailing labels on the computer and had to abbreviate things like Dr. on a few to make them fit.
But we wanted it to be more informal than the 'real' invitations, it all depends on your style.....

What color of labels did you use? The same as your envelopes or something?

I just ran the evelopes through the printer.

Re: Question about STD's

Our envelopes were white but we got clear mailing labels anyway (Staples carries them) and matched the font on the label to the one inside. It turned out pretty well (FI is a perfectionist and even he was impressed) It was a lot less work than handwriting all of them.
