Question about storing your veils before the wedding.

Is there a special way to store them? I'm suppose to pick my veil up next weekend .

For those of you who might be storing a veil because you purchased too early (like me), are borrowing an heirloom one, or want to store your veil nicely after the wedding, here are a few tips that Candi attached to my veil (well, the plastic cover).

Caring for your Veil


Don’t leave your veil covered in plastic. It takes out the fullness and may cause the veil to discolor.
If you need to store your veil before your wedding, a paper sleeve over the hanger will keep dust off of it.
If your veil wrinkles or flattens, here are some tips to restore it:
Unpin it from the hanger and give it a good shake.
Hang it in a steamed bathroom. Don’t touch the veil while it’s damp as it can take the body out of the fabric.
Mist it LIGHTLY with water and use your blowdryer set on LOW HEAT to dry it. This will take out wrinkles and restore the original fullness.

I didn't pick up my veil until I picked up my dress about a week before the wedding.

I stored both hanging in my basement with the garment bag open and left the plastic bag half off of my veil.
