How do you take your veil off (with combs) without ruining your hair? I think I want to take my veil off for the reception but when my mom and I tried doing this after my hair trial we messed my hair up (so hard to get it out)

Re: Question about taking off veil
My MOH just slipped it off, she didnt mess up my hair. Ask your hairstylist to show your MOH - it's really easy.

Thanks! I just felt like it was stuck in so well that it was so hard to get out.

You're so welcome! I thought so too (especially with my 'tight' hairstyle) but it came off really easy! HTH!

Re: Question about taking off veil
my veil is two teir. the top layer is shorter and im using that as the blusher. the bottom layer is longer and that is attached to a velcro strip on the comb so that i can take the longer piece off at the reception and just have the shorter, blusher, part on hanging down my back.

Re: Question about taking off veil
I'm going to have the hair stylist show my bridesmaid how to take out the comb. I recently saw someone's wedding pics and the comb with the velcro strip is clear as day in the back of her head.

Re: Question about taking off veil
I wish I had a velcro strip. My 2 layers are right on the comb.

I've seen veils that have a metal comb. that's the kind I want to get. IMO, it will be easier to secure to my hair and then to be removed.

oh well! that's what im doing and i know lots of other people that have done it and it wasnt noticeable at all. it will be right under my hair so it should not be noticeable.

I think her's was falling out anyway and someone snapped a pic of it. I'm sure she took it out right after that.

Re: Question about taking off veil
mine slipped right out, by pulling it straight up. It was easy.
taking the 500 bobby-pins out at the end of the night, was not

I asked Denise Venti (whose doing my hair the day of) about this, and she said to have my veil on a smaller, metal comb...so I had my veil made on a 3' metal comb (as opposed to a 4' inch plastic comb). Apparently, the smaller the comb and the metal make it easier to slide out without messing up your hair.

Re: Question about taking off veil
I took my veil off right after reception pictures. It just came right out, and then my sister fixed up my hair a little bit where it got flattened out.!

Re: Question about taking off veil
i have heard of veils on a stick. not sure if you can still do this with your veil, but basically, the stick will slide easily in and out of your hair...
