Question about those picture machines at CVS....

Ya know the ones where u can scan a pic and it prints it out for you.....do you use the machine yourself or does someone have to assist you? The reason I am asking is because I want to copy an old pic of my husbands to have it framed but it has a copyright on the back....so I just wanted to know if someone is going to check the pic or can I go ahead and do it. I'm not even sure this studio exists anymore so I can't call them to get the pic enlarged. Help please

Hey Dani!
It depends who is working that day. I made copies of my inlaws and my parents wedding pictures for our wedding at a photo store on main street in Farmingdale. I actually had the owner make the copy and it came out awesome!
I orginally took the pictures to the CVS in Farmingdale and there was some coating on my in laws pic that in those machines pixilizes it. It's sometype of coating some professional pixs have it that get messed up in the machine

Im going through the same thing. I have an engagement pic I want to enlarge for my FIL's for Christmas, but Ive had problems in the past enlarging copyrighted photos. The problem, based on my experience, is that there is a code on the machine that the manager has to punch in to use it.

yes there is a special code they have to punch in - i tried to do a really old pic of my grandparents and they refused to let me copy it without a release form - the picture is like 60 years old i am pretty sure the photographer is dead by now - but they wouldnt budge
sigh
sometimes things have to be really difficult

I know there is a CVS in Howard Beach, on Cross Bay Blvd, that has a machine in the store. It's right out in the open for general use, so I don't think the copyright becomes an issue. I've never used it, but it looks kind of easy.

I've also used the one at Howard Beach. They pretty much leave you alone to use the machine and you just let them know when its time to enter the code. They enter it and just move on. (at least that was my experience).

Ekerds has those machines too, and you do it on your own....but another suggestion, I scaned and printed a few old pictures this way and they came out great right at home!!!!
