So, my ceremony starts at 7pm and the cocktail hour starts immediatly afterwards. My FH and I have decided we are going to do pictures before the ceremony, but my HUGE question is how does the timing work beforehand? What time do I start getting ready? What time do the hairstylists and make-up artist come in. Which goes first?
I'm totally clueless.
The reason I'm asking is that the hairstylist I want says she can only get to me around 2:30 pm. Is that enough time?

What time does your ceremony start?
If it's around 3pm, give yourself a half hour to travel beforehand, so you'll essentially be taking pics from 1:00 - 2:00, which means your hair/makeup should be ready by 11:30/12:00.

I was wondering the same thing, so I called my photographer and told me what time she wants to start shooting pics and when I need to be all dressed n stuff...and the rest I'll work out with the stylist.

My photographer said he will need 2 hours for photos before the ceremony. I think you might be ok.

i guess it depends on where you are doing pics.
we did pics of me at my sisters house with my bms, and then pics of me and fh and us and our bp at the hall. to give you an idea of timing, for us our ceremony started at 6:30. so my fh arrived at the hall at 4 with the gm and me and my bm got there at 4:15. we had a special moment set up to capture me and fh seeing eachother for the first time in our wedding gear. so from like 4:15-6 we took pics of us and bp, and then just us. we relaxed in the bridal suite from 6-6:30 until the ceremony. we started getting ready earlier in the day, probably around 10:30-11. at that time, i had my hair stylists and makeup artist do me (makeup was a little later, aroun 12 maybe) and flowers dropped off. photographer came around 2. i hope that helps you in your planning!

It also depends on how many girls you have getting ready. My ceremony starts at 12 noon. And I have 4 girls, we are starting to get ready at 5AM! Because I want to be at the place to take pictures at 10AM. Typically all the bridal party goes first for hair and make-up and then they do yours. You do hair first, then make-up. Then you have your bridesmaids get dressed while your make-up is finishing up so they can help you get dressed :)
Hope that helps. Also, ask your hair/make-up ppl how long they need for each bridesmaid this way you can work out timing better.
