question about tipping

FILs are paying for our band - who is responsible for tipping them? Them or us?

I'm only asking this because my parents paid for the band when my brother got married and my brother insisted on tipping the band so my parents didn't.

Now I don't know what to do for our band...?

and what's a typical percentage?

I would assume that you should cover the tips, but I suggest having your FH tell his parents of your intent, so that they don't end up tipping them as well. Not sure how bands get tipped though b/c we had a DJ.

My parents are helping us out with most of the wedding but FH and I are taking care of all tips.
