Question about tipping banquet manager/maitr'd

Question....

My banquet manager is also my Maitr'd (found this out a few weeks ago)...so hes going to be helping me set up the day of. Do I have to tip him since he is also the banquet manger???

I would think so - if he is perfoming the duties of a maitre 'd, he should be compensated as such.

So what does a maitre'd do exactly? He told me he would set up the tables and such (but I would help too)....what else is included with this service?

I would pay him something They are supposed to run your wedding really...he will probably be doing a lot more then just setting up the tables.. no??

A maitre'd basically runs your wedding... he will make sure that you and FH have drinks and food at all times, he will get food drinks for your BP when their in the bridal suite, he will keep the wedding 'running'.... i.e. checking up on his staff, serving tables, answering questions/resolving issues as they arise, etc. most importantly, he keeps everything on schedule.... prepares the BP for their entrance, your dance with dad, etc. etc. cake cutting, etc.
