Question about tipping valet people....

Question about tipping valet people....

We have valet parking at our wedding. I assume I should take care of the tipping - we only expect about 20 cars. There will be 3 valet people there. How much do I tip? they will be there from 4:30-11:00 pm.

hm... i havent thought about this either...

usually, what i pay for my individual car, i give $1.
maybe $20 per valet?
i dunno...

3 valets for 20 cars? That's a very steep ratio to begin with.

If you have to do 3 valets and they are there all night at least $50 each.

I would find out from your hall if the valet service is already included in your service fee....I know it is included in mine...

no - we hired the company separately because the company our hall wanted us to use was a lot of $$$$$$. There are two parkers and one 'manager', not 3 valets. We are actually getting an amazing deal, so I don't mind tipping them...just wondering how much each.....

I think I have heard $1 a car but b/c you expect so few cars, I woud probably give ecah parker a bit more. Maybe $50?

Do you really need to tip them? I would think your guests with cars would. If you are doing the tipping, you should maybe put a sign up with the valet that says everything is covered by the newlyweds? Otherwise they will be getting double the money, you know?
