question about tuxes

my fi wants the guys to wear platinum vests. my girls are wearing wine, and my dress is vory. fi wants to wear an ivory vest.

when we went to the tux place they said he could wear and ivory shirt and vest, but that the guys should wear white shirts with platinum.

my question is, do you think the white shirts will stand out too much? or will it not make a difference?

the dads will probably be wearing white shirts...

DH wore ivory vest, tie and shirt. Based on the recommendation of the store the bridal party and fathers wore ivory shirts. My dress was off-white. I didn't want to draw attention to the fact that my dress wasn't pure white - that is why we did that.

the tux place told us that ivory with the platinum wouldn't look right...*sigh* hmmm...

What kind of platinum? Ours was called silver platinum. Is yours lighter than this?

Yep! They are ivory. You really can't tell in pictures it looks white. But the swatch of the white shirt next to my dress was way to stark that is why we went with ivory for everyone.
