Question about tuxes

for FFIL and my father FH and i were thinking of buying them ties that coordinate with our mother's dresses to wear with the tuxes. we are doing ties for GM instread of bow ties. Is this what most people do or do the fathers were the same thing as the GM? I am not sure - just feel like they should be different.

also - do the fathers have to wear a pocketfold hankerchief to match their ties? the GM are...
