Question about veil...

Question about veil...

Please let me know, or show me a picture of hairstyles half up with a veil that has a comb. Also, for those past brides who did have a veil with a comb, did you take the veil off at ceremony? How did your hair not get messed up from taking the veil off? This has been bothering me for so long. If you are not having a comb with your veil, how are you attaching the veil to your hair then? Please let me know. Thanks!

Re: Question about veil...

Hi! I just got married on 9/10. I am waiting for some pics so that i can post. BUt i had my hair half up, with a tiara, and a comb veil.
The plan was to take the veil off during the ceremony. I practiced at the trial at leawt 5 or 6 times. She fastened the comb with one bobby pin on each side. All i had to do was remove each pin and pull the comb up while holding my hair.
The funny was that i hated having a veil, and wanted nothing more than to take it off when i got to the ceremony. There was so much going on and i started having such a good time, i didn't even remember to take off lol.
I hope i can post some pics soon to help

Re: Question about veil...

Hi! I had a tiara and a veil with a comb; I took the veil off 1/2 way through the reception without trouble b/c my hairdresser (Jenn, Hair Genie) made it very easy to do so. If they know you plan to remove the veil, they usually make it simple for you to take it out. Jenn made a little flap so my mom just slid it out. Here's some pics:

Re: Question about veil...

I wore my hair half up and down and had my veil attached to a jeweled comb.
Here's my review w/some pictures.

I basically had my hairstylist pin my hair back in the front with bobby pins that you couldn't see, I only wore my veil w/comb during ceremony, cocktail, entrance to reception and first dance then had it off the rest of the time. I sewed the veil directly to the jeweled comb. so both had to come off, but I had another separate comb if I really wanted it in my hair, but I didn't bother.

Re: Question about veil...

Thanks ladies...
The reason why I'm so bothered over this is because I'm not wearing a tiara, just a few hair barrettes/pins for decoration. I plan to wear my hair half up/ half down with my hair pulled back and pinned low. Once ceremony is over, the veil is coming off. I know it has been done so many times before and thank you for giving your experiences - It helps alot!! I really think this is the one thing I'm going to be fretting over until it comes off for the night.
