I have to meet with vendors all afternoon...I was wondering how many you guys interview before you sign a contract with the one you picked? Like I have an appt with Wild Rose Video then with ADA Studios...is that enough? Is it reasonable for me to make up my mind by the end of hte day? I'm pressed for time...my wedding is on Sept 28 and I haven't booked anyone. I called Bellarino and JN and they're both booked on my wedding day, now I feel like booking quickly but I don't want to be ripped off. anyopinions will be very much appreciated.

Re: Question about vendors
I looked at 3 halls before booking (Manor East), looked at 3 photographers before I booked with (Marcy Studios) and only looked at one DJ (Let Us Entertain You), Limo Company (Marcy) and videographer (Bellarino).

Re: Question about vendors
I am happy with everything I booked, but if I knew then what I know now, I may have doen differently. I booked everything right away, and now feel like maybe I should have shopped around more, bargained more, stuff like that. I got sick of looking at photographers, video, etc., so I just booked the easiest way. I didn't look at that many. I would not book while you are in the office- go home and think about it first. Some vendors will hold your day for a week without any or a very small deposit.

Re: Question about vendors
You sound so stressed!!! Don't worry!!!
Three was my magic number with everything (my hall, my dress, my photographer). You should weigh your options, but too many options could make you nuts! Relax and enjoy it!
Good luck!

Re: Question about vendors
Some places I shopped around- others I did not- if I saw something I was very happy with I was content to 'move on' and not measure it against another vendor- I have no regrets... I looked at 4 halls, and tons of dresses but only 1 florist & 1 photographer and 1 band.

Re: Question about vendors
Thanks, guys. I guess I'm driving myself insane I looked at about a dozen halls before I booked...10 bridal salons later and I had just made up my mind about a dress! I guess for someone pressed for time, I should just make things easier and interview 2-3 vendors per category. I'm only meeting with vendors recommended by you guys which should make things easier. Thanks for all your help.

Re: Question about vendors
Do a lot of website checks - once you find a video/picture style you like, then call for price. Those who fit in your price range go and look at!

Re: Question about vendors
I looked at about 6 halls, I looked at one photographer (ADA Studio) I was confident in their work, plus I got Tony doing my pics.(He is the big wig there) I looked at one videograher. (he is a family friend, so I know his work very well!) Couped-Up Productions. And I looked at one DJ. I felt confident in all the feedback that I recieved from girls on here. Get In Tune.
I think it is a personal decision. If you like their work, and they are a reasonable price, then go for it. If you are not sure, then shop around and get the best bargain. Good Luck!
Edited to say: I did a lot of web research first! I looked at everyones websites to see their styles. I narrowed it down to a few, and let FH put his two cents in also. Then we went to showcases to see the photographer & videographer. But I suggest going to their websites. You can tell a lot from a business from their website.

Re: Question about vendors
I think it depends on your gut. I researched all my vendors before even going to the appointment, but once I was there I just followed my instincts. My hall was only the second place I looked at and I booked on the spot, I looked at eight photographers before deciding, four DJs, booked my first videographer (that's because it was Wild Rose ) and my first florist.

Re: Question about vendors
I'm not really sure there's a magic number - when you meet the right vendor for you, you'll know/feel it. I don't remember how many I looked at for each vendor, but video (I'm using Wild Rose) was the only 1 I questioned myself on & then went back out & searched some more.
before choosing, I saw about 6 photographers, 5 reception sites, 3-4 videographers, 4 florists.
