Question about vendors/paying vendors/arranging vendor details

Question about vendors/paying vendors/arranging vendor details

OK so ive put the deposits down on all my vendors.

Before booking they mentioned their payment plans and kinda slipped in when to speak to them before the wedding to finalize

Do they call me? Do they ask me what I want?

Or do I call them?

I have 5-6 months until my wedding but I am curious

Any past brides- please advise - thanks!!

You know...funny thing...our vendors didn't seem to concerned about their final payments... I think I was more concerned with just getting it done with so there would be one less thing to worry about. You'd think being it is the reason why they're in business is for the money that they'd follow up more...

Anyway...to answer your question...we called.

We stayed on top of our vendors and called them to set up the follow up appointments. We went over the timelines with them when we booked them around when we should reconnect to go over details. Some of them called us as well which is good, but it is your wedding & your money. No one will care about the details more than you!! I would suggest staying on top of them and not leaving it in their hands. Don't feel bad about calling them with a question or to set up your own appt. You're paying them a lot of money & they can answer a few questions and return a phone call once in a while. Next week we're gonna call all our vendors one last time to re confirm that they have everything they need and that they are ready to go for our big day!

I made myself a spreadsheet with all deadlines / final payments due....usually everything is spelled out on your contract, so I just went through all my contracts and put all the dates in the spreadsheet. I definitely would not count on them to call you - they will just 'expect' the payment when it's due...I doubt they will remind you.

The payment plans should be in your contract. What I did recently was go through all of my contracts and make an excel spreadsheet on when payments were due, how much I've already paid, how much the final payment would be and whether they wanted cash or check, etc. If you're missing any info, you could email or call the vendor.

Same here. I had to contact all of my vendors. I think, though, that I didn't give them a chance to contact me as I was on top of everything in advance.
