Question about Votive Place Cards...

For those who used them or are planning on doing them...did you buy the vellum paper already pre-measured and preforated to fit the shape of the votive? Or did you physically measure and cut each label???

I found pre-cut vellum wraps for the votives at Michaels - the only thing is they have a double heart design on the top of each - and I don't want them...I've looked online for other places that have the pre-measured and preforated votive wraps plain - but I can't find them - just the ones that Michaels carries..please help...THANKS

Re: Question about Votive Place Cards...

Those w/the double hearts are the only ones I've found anywhere. Usually the ladies have cut them out themselves...

I and a few other ladies have used the Avery & Staples clear LABELS which made hte process a billion times easier.

I was going to use the labels as well...BUT like the moron that I am - I bought CLEAR votives instead of the frosted ones...which would have made this whole process MUCH easier...

I remember when you posted yours ...I can't remember if you were also having problems with the tape as well??? I remember someone posting that a certain tape was not sticking once the votive started to get hotter???? or maybe you were the one who suggested a certain tape that would stick??? ...I guess I better start to practice my measuring and cutting skills...what a mess this is going to be...

Re: Question about Votive Place Cards...

I bought the vellum precut to the width of the votives on www.paperandmore.com (I think they charge $5 extra to cut it for you). I ended up cutting on my own to fit the height of the votive, but it was only one cut for each which wasn't so bad. Then I used double-sided tape to stick the vellum to the votive.

HTH!

I just did Sylvia's votives, and the votives were clear not frosted, and the clear labels worked. However, the Avery labels say they're 'clear' but they're actually frosted....the Staples brand is actually clear.

Re: Question about Votive Place Cards...

I am using the Michael's ones with the double heart which I really wasnt too fond of, but was too lazy to care. I wound up really liking the way the double heart came out. They were kind of a pain to format though.

Re: Question about Votive Place Cards...

I didn't use the Michales one either b/c I didn't care for the doubl heart design, and b/c I couldn't get my text to fit right. I went the old fashion route, and got a lot of help and inspiration from my 06 gals - esp cjb88.
