question about votives

question about votives

Does anyone know how long votives usually last? I am considering using them as part of my centerpiece, but am worried that they will burn out too quickly.

I bought white votive candles already in the glass holders at AC Moore and when the reception was over, they were only 1/3 of the way burned.

I would suggest burning them on your own to see how long they last because I've had some that last an hour and some that last 3. It's hard because you don't know how long before the reception that the site will light them. So, I would test any candle on your own to make sure. Also, a lot of times the labels on the candles let you know the approximate burning time. Good luck!

Re: question about votives

We just figured our solution out tonight about that! I was worried about the votives burning something or the wax situation, so my dad (who works at a florist) got us those little electric wicks, if that's what you call them. They look just like a burning candle, but they're not! Also, they came in different colors, so since my colors are purple, we're able to get the electric wick to 'burn' in a lavender.

I'll ask where they get them from and FM you when I find out.
