Question about water

Question about water

We don't usually leave water in Bama's crate because DH comes home at lunchtime to feed him. But there have been a couple of times when DH couldn't go home, so poor Bama was without water all day.
Should I just put water in his crate? What do you all do? Do you always put water in their crate? Our breeder had told us not to do this since it'll make him have to pee, but now that he's older I think he can handle it. What do you think?

I'm going to get one of those bowls that clips on to the crate. I also feel bad about Satchy only getting water at lunch during the day.

We always have water available for the pups.

Yeah, I didn't think it was a good idea to not leave him any water. I have one of those little water bowls that attaches to the bars so maybe I'll start leaving that for him and see if his bladder holds out.

I never leave water for Casey... I always felt it would make her have to pee. I give her plenty before her bathroom break in the AM and plenty at night.

we let Golem drink as much water as he wants when he's out of the crate and we're home with him. During the day though - we don't leave water in his crate. Our vet said it was fine for puppies as long as he's getting enough water the rest of the day, it won't hurt him to go a few hours without. Otherwise, he would drink water all day and would definitly pee in his crate - and we just got over that recently! :) If you think your pup can handle it though - I say go for it! Once Golem is older we are going to leave water in the crate for him though, he is still learning bladder control now -so I don't want to chance it while he's still a puppy.
