My ering is from blue nile and we would be getting the band there to match. It's a $600 price difference.

Re: Question about wedding bands
i would go to a jewelry store to see how it looks first ... if you can't tell the difference (which is probably the case) then go buy it on blue nile

Re: Question about wedding bands
my e-ring is white gold and my wedding band is platinum. you cant tell the difference by looking at them. just have to get the white gold ring redipped every so often, but i really only notice it turning a little yellow on the bottom, so its not too big of a deal.

Re: Question about wedding bands
Honestly its a preference. The white gold is gunna eventually gunna turn a little yellow at the bottom, as the platinum will turn gray. but its at the bottom of the ring that is gunna turn color, not the top.

i had the same question a while back since i have a plat e-ring too!
there is a price diff between plat & gold but if your going with the white gold - get 18k which is closest to platinum as far as color/looks is. hth!

Re: Question about wedding bands
The other thing I would be concerned about is how the two metals would react brushing up against each other constantly. Would there be some kind of chemical reaction? I'm not saying there is or isn't. But something to think about as well.
I have a platinum ering and I'm def going with a platinum wedding band. But then I'm a very destructive person when it comes to jewelry so FI wanted something that he knew would last. Hehe.

Re: Question about wedding bands
Platinum and white gold are totally different. Platinum is much softer and will scratch more easily... at first, they will look the same, but after a while, they both change a little bit and they will never match. My friend's sister has platinum and white gold and they don't match......
HTH... sorry about the price difference. I know that scuks...
