Question about wedding dresses

Question about wedding dresses

Is your wedding dresses going to be touching the floor or are you going to go 1-3 inches above the ground? I was told wedding gowns are suppose to be 1-3 inches off the ground. I have talked to a few people and they said they have never heard of this. Can anyone please help me with this?

Re: Question about wedding dresses

I guess mine was about an inch? I mean it didn't roll under when I walked but you didn't see my shoes really at all maybe just the tips. I wouldn't want 3' off the floor that would be a bit much.

Mine was maybe an inch from the ground. If I stood still it just touched the floor but if I adjusted my body you could see it came off the ground a little by little I mean you couldn'st see my shoes but I didn't trip when I walked either.

Re: Question about wedding dresses

My dress was pre hemmed and I went for my first fitting Saturday I was not happy about my dress you could see the tip of my shoes. Today I went back with my sister to try it on again and to see what I could do about it and she took pictures of it and you can see my shoes in some of the pictures. I was told they can lower the dress but then I can't use slippers if I want cause I will walk all over my dress. I am not sure about what to do.

I don't know - I think it touched the floor, but I wasn't tripping over it...

I'd say about an inch off the floor if anything.

mine didnt really touch the floor..but you couldn't see my shoes either. it was just right. id say an inch or less maybe. 3 inches would be too much i think! i think it would make it look funny!

I stepped on and ripped the inner lining of my gown, and slipped walking into my ceremony. The shoes I wore were slightly taller than the ones I got fitted with so I don't know why I was able to ruin my dress and entrance.

mine grazed the floor! i think it depends on your personal preference!

Re: Question about wedding dresses

The overlay of my dress barely grazed the floor and the underlay was probably about an 1'...I wore 2.5' heels b/c I'm tall (5'8'). I wasn't tripping and you really couldn't see my shoes either when I walked, unless I hiked my dress up...see pic below:
