Question about wedding thank you's

Hi!

since our invites have gone out, we have received some wedding gifts in the mail from those who are not able to attend the wedding.
Do i wait to send out thank you cards? Our photog is making our cards.
Or do i go buy a pack of generic thank yous and send them now?

thanks!

Re: Question about wedding thank you's

I ordered some as soon as we got engaged (bc we were lucky enough to start getting presents right away). They say our name on it but pretty basic. We have been using these for all the presents we have been getting throughout our engagement and will probably use these as the e-party thank-yous as well (assuming we have enough).

I would also not wait to send a thank-you. One less thing to remember later on.

I would definitely get a pack of generic cards and send thank yous to those people that already sent gifts. Thank yous should be sent out within 2 months after a gift as been received - plus they might get worried that you never received the gift so it's better to thank them now

I waited to send them thank you's so I can send them with the rest.

ETA: but I did have my parents or DH's parents (whichever side they were from) inform the person that we received it, appreciate it, and are waiting to send them so we can send them a picture.
