I thought the shops are supposed to call you when the dress comes in, so you can look at it, try it on and for BM pick it up?? I've always had to pick up my BM dress and hold on to it until I went for fittings.
So I just called the shop we bought our dresses from. the BM dresses are in,which i didn't know, but apparently they will send a postcard in August for them to make appointment for September, 1 month before the wedding. And my dress they said will come in next month and again they will send a postcard in August to call for appointments. She put it in the system to call me when it comes in b/c I wanted to come and try it on. When I said that the girl said I would have to get permission from the manager b/c they don't like to take the dresses out of storage until the fittings!! What!? I thought most of you ladies have been able to go try your dress on and the BM dresses, to make sure they are ok, the right ones, etc.
does this make sense what they are telling me???

hmmm that is a lil odd but everyplace does their own thing when i went w. davids bridal to get my moh and bridesmaids dresses we paid in full because they don't take deposits and then when they came in we had to take them home?????
but the place I ordered my dress from they let me try it on to make sure i was still in love with it. so I can make a desicion on my veil etc....
but then again every place is diffrent

i was able to go try on my dress...usually u can to make sure it is the right dress, nothing is wrong..see the fit..etc.
but when i was a BM in my girlfriends wedding we just got a postcard when they came in to schedule a fitting..
but u should def. be able to go see your dress... i think most of the ladies on here have...
maybe someone else can help more???

I tried my dress on when it came in and so did one of my BM. I guess every bridal place is different.

I got the call when my dress came in and since I ordered hem to hollow measurments, they told me to come in and make sure it was ok and then I made my fitting appt for June (2 months before the wedding)
BM dresses haven't come in yet..but they only took everyone's phone number..so I'm assuming they'll call and tell us..

Yeah my place called the day my dresses and my bm dressed came in and said we can come and look and try them on whenever and they they'll schedule fittings in August.... They just needed to be called one day in advance to get the dress!!!

My bridal shop did it the same way yours did. My dress came in sometime the middle of December and I didn't try it on until my first fitting last month. They keep it in storage as well. I didn't really argue it, I just figured it was the way things were done!

every place does their own thing...i would call and speak to a manager, I'm sure they can work something out for you to come in and try on your dress.

I just found out my dress is in today...yay. They told me to make an apt for July for my first fitting they did not offer to let me see it now. I would like to see it but whatever I can wait...
