FH and I are going on Thursday (our 7 year anniversary) to get our marriage licence.
I have everything I need and I've searched far and wide but for some reason I can't find the ACTUAL ADDRESS/BUILDING in Suffolk county that I'm supposed to go to to file for it.
I must be a moron, so if someone can point me in the right direction that would be awesome!!
Thanks
ETA: I'd even take somewhere in Nassau county...however Brooklyn, Queens and NYC is too far for my lazy asss.

Re: question about WHERE to obtain a marriage licence
You can go to any Suffolk County Town Hall to obtain the license. Smithtown's is right on Main Street (Jericho Turnpike).

Re: question about WHERE to obtain a marriage licence
I do not think that EVERY town hall does the marriage license applications ....
Save yourself the trip & call first, or look up their specific website.

Re: question about WHERE to obtain a marriage licence
I called each of the town halls listed, and yes, they do each offer marriage licenses. However, their hours vary, so a call beforehand is always a good idea. For example, DH and I went to get the license the weekend before Easter, and a number of the town halls in both counties were either closed all day or closed that day (Good Friday), even though it's not a holiday.

Re: question about WHERE to obtain a marriage licence
Hey the Town Hall on Sunrise Highway in Lindenhurst does marriage licenses Monday to Friday from 9-4. You need a passport/driver's license, original birth certificates, and $40 cash! Good luck!

Hey girls,
since you all seem to know about marriage licenses and I'm clueless...I have a stupid question. Does it matter where you go? I mean, Fh live sin suffolk and I live in queens. Our ceremoney is in queens... Or can we go anywhere in NYS?? Dumb question, I know, but I'm confused.
TIA!!

Re: question about WHERE to obtain a marriage licence
Just a word of advice, although I'm not sure if it is the same in Suffolk. We went to the Brooklyn Office. We got there at around 10am and it was PACKED. We were there for about 1 -2 hours. I recommend getting there when they open and you should be in and out. Oh, and make sure you write clearly and legibly. the people in front of us were from Eastern Europe and b/c they didn't write clearly it took the woman working there forever to figure out their names!
