What does the inside of the yalmukah have to say? Just you name and your FI's name and the wedding date? Do you put the place too? Or the hebrew names?

Re: Question about yalmukes- jewish brides help!
Maybe someone here can help me too ( I had a post on this alittle while ago, but no one replied).
It's a dumb question (I'm not Jewish, FH is), but does it matter what color the yarmulkes are? The few Jewish weddings I've been to they have been white, but FH wants black. I asked his familiy, but they weren't sure.

I don't think it matters- for my bat mitzvah we had white yalmukes and for my brothers we had black. For ours we are doing black suede with black and white trim. I have a good place if you're interested- let me know.

I would have to say that hebrew names would be reserved for a more orthodox sect of judiasm. If you are having a reform ceremony, your first names and wedding date will be sufficient.

I would think just bride and groom's name and wedding date. We are having a family member knit all of our yarmulkes. She made the samples in white with silver, but I told her that I would prefer black with silver instead. I think they would look better in black so the silver would show up better. Plus, black would look nice since most men will wear a black suit. What do you think?

We are paying our temple to make them up for us. I believe they will have our names & the date & that would be it.

YOu can use any color for yarmulkes. We used black suede with leather trim. THat is what most of my friends are using. It looks very nice. The temple got them for usbecause it was included but you can go online or any judaica stores and you can order them.
All you need are your names and your last name and date of wedding.
Good luck

OK so I can just write: Meredith and Jeffrey November 8, 2003
Do you usually put last names?
Do you write the hall too?
