I have an appointment with them this evening. I was told that their minimum would be 125 for a Friday/Sunday and 150 for Sat. night.
According to my list, I only have 100 guest, do you think that they'll change the minimum to accommodate 100? What are the prices like, I have to stay within my budget since FH and I are paying for it on our own, like so many of you are. I am afraid I don't know what to expect since the girl on the phone was a bit snotty.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It depends on the room. I wanted the bigger room at Fox Hollow and they were willing to drop the min from 200 to 185. Also, it depends on the day and time of day. Its worth negotiating.

I am booked at Chateau Briand, for the smaller room the Saturnia-they said the minimum for Sat night was 125, i have the next sized room-the Normandy my minimum is 150

i really depends. some places are willing to change to accomodate but some places are not. it also will depend on the date. if you are looking at prime time (may, june, sept) then most likely not.
also if you are inviting 100 people & wanting to guarantee 100 people i would personally be a little concerned. always remember that you have to pay for the amount you guarantee.

when i went there.. they seamed pretty flexable... you just have to work with them... also some halls might change the min if you do some add ons n stuff...

some people will negotiate minimums...but only by like 20-25 ppl or so. if the min for one room is 150 i dont think theyll drop it to 100. esp for prime times like sat. night.
i would consider an afternoon wedding maybe. they are usually more flexible.

well, my list is 125 and growing, but it will never be 150. Little over a 100 but that's it. Are they really going to stick to the 125 for a Friday or will they work with me?

i looked at Chateau Briand and they told me it was 150 for a Saturday night in March. They said they might be able to go down to 140, but that was it.

Dont remember the minimums or anything (since we knew we were having at least 15) but when we looked at it they were very accomdating when it came to price. If I wasnt getting married at JT, CB would probably have been my next choice!
