Question for African american brides or brides of African descent

Hello Ladies,

I am about 3 weeks away from my wedding day and I cannot figure out what to do with my hair. I went natural a few years ago and when I did my last trial the style did not hold for over an hour. I looked horrible after a few mins even though she did a good job. Someone suggested hair lace. Have any of you tried this and it is worth the hundreds of $$$$?
