Question for all the Brides and Brides to be

Question for all the Brides and Brides to be

Just got off the phone with my hair lady. (she was recommended)

She stated that I should send her a $25.00 check to secure the date.

Then when I get my vail I should make a trial appointment with her.

The trial is $75.00

Then the day of the wedding it will be $175 for me and $75.00 for anyone in my bridal party.

Does this sound resonable? I just dont see why I have to give $75.00 to her for a trial. wont if I dont like it. Im out the $75.00 ?

Yes that sounds correct.....maybe like a $10 difference from someone else but not much....It's rediculous though! Not like you're not speding enough already then you have to go spend that on your hair with tip

Unfortunately, this is the norm. Same goes for makeup trials too. My trial was $85.

im a hairdresser, and you shouldnt have to send her $25 to secure the date...lol...if you book an appointment its secure, your should give money upfront. but that whole paying for a trial is reasonable. everywhere you go you'll have to pay for a trial updo.

This is why I'm going to my regular stylist for my wedding. She can do as good a job as any of the much more expensive freelancers.

That sounds kind of high in my opinion. I'm not at that stage yet. My cousin paid $150 on her wedding day and all BM paid $125. Maybe that is too high? Not sure.

is the salon right in LI? i know the salon i work at is 55 for brides and 45 for everyone else...im also in mass so that makes a difference. i would look around more. ask to see portfolios of other brides they have done

I havent heard of giving them a deposit but I suppose it makes sense. My trial was on $45 but I just went to a salon...it's frustrating at how expensive makeup & hair can get though..

I think she works out of her house. I would go there for the trial and then the day of she will come to the RH (thats where im getting ready).

But she does not charge for time being there or travel so thats good

That's about what I am paying.. (or paid for my trial)

sounds standard...

i actually ended up going to a salon and paid $150.00 for my hair AND make-up on the wedding day.

my girls paid $75 for their hair---this included a $25 fee for opening early (5 AM) usually BM hair is only $50.00

Go to a salon---SO much cheaper than the people that come to your house.
