Question for any Muslims re: etiquette about death
I have to go out, so I may not be able to respond to this if anyone asks any questions, but my sister called and told me that her neighbor, who is Muslim, is dying of cancer and has very, very little time left to live. He has a wife and two children and she and the rest of her neighbors would like to do something for them after he dies to let them know that they are there for them and to properly express their sympathy. She lives in Texas, and there is not a large Muslim community where she is, so they don't really know what is the appropriate thing to do. They would like to make sure that they honor this man, rather than do something that would possibly offend his family.
Since there can be vast differences between how different religions handle death, I was hoping someone would have some insight. She only asked me because my best friend is Muslim, and she figured I could get the info from her, but I haven't been able to get in touch with her for a while, so I'm turning to you ladies.
Thanks.

Re: Question for any Muslims re: etiquette about death
I don't really think they want to ask his wife what will be appropriate to do when her husband dies. As much as it would be better than doing something improper, I think it would probably come off as being insensitive, and really, would you want to have that conversation with someone?

No, unfortunately not. I'm going to try to research it online and see if I find anything.
Thanks for the suggestion, though.

I dont know if this helps but here is some info I found
From my interpretation it's not all that different than after a catholic funeral. You would bring food to the home and eat and basically just show your support for the widow.
