Question for Anyone Getting Married in the Catholic Church

So my FH and I have our meeting with the church this weekend to make sure we are able to get married in the church-- the priest told me on the phone that he was going to ask us some questions to make sure we are able to get married.
What kinds of questions do they usually ask you? Is it going to be an issue that FH and I live together?

TIA!

No...you will be fine! lol. FH and I also live together. and when we went to precana there was another couple there who were unmarried and had a child together already. They will ask you questions like what religion you plan to raise your children as. That you enter into this marriage willingly. Also, if you have any diseases or illnesses that your spouse is not aware of. And the kicker, if you having any issues making you unable to 'perform' that you are aware of. which makes me laugh. HTH

Yea when they asked the sex one, my FH just looked at me with this weird face and I was trying not to crack up. He was totally caught off guard and so was I. lol When we walked out of there, I was like did the priest seriously just ask if you could perform sexually??? We were cracking up

They'll ask if either of you have been married before.
If you live together
If you have children (whether together or from a previous marriage/relationship).
Why do you want to get married in a Catholic Church.

Nothing too crazy

If you're related by blood... that was my personal favorite. They separated us to ask the same questions.

We didn't get any crazy questions. I think that comes at Pre-Cana. We were asked if we have ever been married. do we want children, how will we raise them. Why we want to get married

He asked us if there were any mental illnesses in the family. If we were there on out own free will. He asked if there was any reason other than love that we were there (and then specifically asked if one of us was really rich).

I think he also asked if we planned on having kids.

Oh my gosh. I wasn't asked a majority of these questions. I guess we lucked out!
Basically I thought his questions were, are you both catholic? (no - only me), will you try to have kids and what religion will you raise them as?, have either one of you been married before** (that's the big one), how long have you dated - we dated a long time so he laughed it off . I think that's for kids out of high school etc. Do you both want to marry each other - free will. Those kind of things. I think there was a set of questions he had to ask but nothing very nutty. Now that I think of it we may have had to fill out papers, but nothing at all nuts. OH yeah, and jobs. What do you do for a living. But, I don't know. Is that small talk or an official question?

We didn't get any of those kinds of questions... Just asked our parents' names and whether we were related or not haha and when and where we made our sacraments. No uncomfortable questions or anything. We are going through pre Cana right now and haven't had any awkward questions asked here either... I guess we've been lucky haha

they ask if you plan to be faithful, have children, if you are married to anyone else...lol, but don't worry nothing really personal.

FH & I live together and the Deacon asked why and what our parents though of that. Overall, he was pretty cool! Churches know we obviously live in the 21st century!

Maybe different churches do it at different times, but the questions he asked us came from some kind of Catholic form with our names, baptism and other sacrament parishes, etc. It was like he was reading from a script.

It was so hard to keep a straight face... some of them were a little absurd, i think the priest wanted to laugh too.
