question for brides

question for brides

I need some information on Bridal Expos. I never went to one before I get married, and I am trying to get some information on what happens there. Is it vendors kind of showing their wares? What types of vendors are there? And how far in advance of your weddings did you start visiting them? If it’s a DJ say , do they actually spin for you? How does it work? Thanks guys!

it's exactly what you think it is.... everyone trying to sell themselves.... sometimes you will have a band performing.... the dj's usually give you a sample cd... just don't sign in - they'll call you forever!!!!!!!!

Halls have them, hotels have them, they are all over the place. Ditto the sign in sentiment, don't sign, or put false info - they are ruthless with phone calls!

I've been to a few at hotels. I always give them my old phone number (nobody has it as of now), because once I made the mistake of giving my real cell number, and I got calls from everyone under the sun, for about a month. Usually, it's a bunch of vendors, florists have centerpieces, invitation salespeople have books, photographers have albums, djs and videographers have videos showing, llimo companies have their cars outside, and sometimes there will be a dj or band doing a live show. A lot of times, I've seen fashion shows with BM dresses, tuxes, and bridal gowns. They're fun, but kind of stressful, beacuse everyone is trying to sell themselves, and sometimes they're a little pushy.

ITS EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED ABOVE. I FOUND IT GOOD THE FIRST COUPLE OF TIMES THEN AFTER A WHILE ITS THE SAME LAME VENDORS OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
ONE GOOD THING IS THERE ARE DOOR PRIZES.
I WON FREE LOUNGE FOR 4 NIGHTS TO 4 LOCATIONS.
ITS A GOOD EXPERIENCE. YOU CAN FIND OUT THE SCHEDULE FOR THE BIG EXPOS ON WWW.METROEXPO.COM OR THEY HAVE ADS IN THE BRIDAL MAGAZINES.

They are good to go to early in your planning. One piece of advice though, do NOT fill out any forms or sign in. You will receive sooooooo much junk mail if you do. I still get wedding stuff in the mail and I only went to one expo that was over a year ago!

BE CAREFUL!!!!!! You will get endless phone calls saying you won trips, but they are scams. NOTHING is FREE!!!!!
It was a lot of fun, and a great experience to see what other ideas are out there.
Have Fun!!!!!
