two, and it was because of the wax seal on the back - the machine ripped them up a little.

Did you get any back Jenn?

None but two people 'claimed' they didn't get them and that's why they didn't rsvp on time... these are cousins... funny their parents or brothers and sisters didn't mention that they got their invites.
Unfortunately, it's not uncommon for one or two.

We sent one to ourselves to check the timeliness of the mail.

No, I havent sent them out yet. My concern is that I have funny shaped 'raised' envelopes so I bought a return address embosser. The problem is, the envelope paper is so thick, even with all my strength, the return address isnt raised enough to stand out. Im not sure if the return address sorter will be able to read it.

oh...i see. I didn't know that a machine had to read a return address! Honestly, as long as there is a return address, it may take longer, but eventually, someone will have to use their huiman eyes to redirect it back to you. I sort the mail at work, and we get alot of stuff returned - once we didn't even have a return address on the envelope, but the mail had ripped and they were able to sort it based on the name of the company on the letterhead - they actually looked up the address. As incompetant as the post office can be, they do get it right sometimes...

What about doing a tester - send it to a nonexistant address and see if it comes back to you...

I got like 5 back.

My dad gave me some wrong ( old) addresses and I messed up 2 addresses on my own

I didn't send mine out yet, but because I was so super organized and ordered my invites in January and then we moved into our new house last month, I had to re-order the RSVP envelopes. Just to be on the safe side, and on the advice of my vendor, I re-ordered the outer envelopes too to avoid any incorrectly addressed invites going to our old address.

Was it not possible to get the return address printed on the outside by the invitation company? I'm sure it won't be a real problem for the post office to read what you have done, but if you are worried, could you send them back to be printed?

2 were sent back. One of them came back with the correct address to mail it to and the other one I have no idea why it came back-maybe they moved? I have it sitting on my desk not sure what to do with it.

Because of the odd shape, I was told return address printing was not available.

Not a single one. My addresses were up-to-date though, and I had one weighed at the post office before I sent them out. I had to put 60 cent stamps on them.

Oh well. No biggie. Would you hate to put clear labels on the back with your address?
