I love candles... I have a 'thing' for scented anything, especially candles. I love White Barn Candle Company, I'd move in if they'd let me.
Anyway, when I was on my honeymoon, I came across a candle that made me make a scene in the store, I literally shouted 'OH MY GOD!' because it was the BEST smelling candle I have ever experienced (and if you are a freak like me you will understand how important that is! ) However, I didn't buy it, because it was $45.00. Yes, you read correctly... $45 for ONE NORMAL SIZED pillar candle. My DH said 'I don't care how good it smells, there's no way you're buying that'.
Soo... I wanted to ask... does anyone know where I can buy Diptyque candles for cheap? I hope that my DH buys it for me for Christmas, but I'm not sure. Here is a picture of the one that I want, it is just the most wonderful smell in the world...

Re: Question for Candle freaks...
I have heard the stars are crazy over these candles, like they get them with Emmy gifts and all.
I need to smell that because I am a candle freak as well. I am addicted to Yankee though and nothing else can compare!

Lunatrek - I SWEAR by these candles!!! THEY ARE AMAZING!!! but yes, very expensive!!! If you think the Fig. smells yummy, you should try the 'Opoponax'...WOW.
The thing about Dyptique candles is that they last FOREVER.....you may be paying alot, but the fragrance is SO strong that you can smell it throughout the house and they really burn A LONG TIME!!!!
Try one out and see...you will be hooked, I promise!
(can you tell I am candle obsessed as well?)

I think I saw them in the store Details (I cant remember what street in Chelsea on 8th avenue).
Dont feel bad about the price - I have dropped ove 100 at a time in White Barn Vanilla Orchid !!!!!! Bath and Body Works CoconutVerbeanaLime - I cant get enough !
How about the Tocca ones that sephora has now Havana is awesome.

Re: Question for Candle freaks...
I tried doing a search on BizRate and every vendor that sells these candles sells them for $45. But Sage is right about the long burn time; 50 - 60 hours is how long they last.

Re: Question for Candle freaks...
I buy mine at Bigelow Chemists on 6th Ave., and this antique store in Soho (can't think of the name, just know where it is...)
But this store online offers free shipping on Diptyque candles:
I LOVE candles...but I don't know if I could spend $45 on a candle
I'll check out Ebay though

Re: Question for Candle freaks...
Has anyone ever tried Old Virginia Candles?? They smell so good. They have been my favorite for probably a year. I just spent $50 on a bunch a few weeks ago. I couldn't help it.
