Is there a way to make pots and pans look new? Some of my pans (especially the ones I use to make eggs) have permanent 'burnt on' stains around the metal parts. I try to scrub, but it doesn't come off with soap and water. Any ideas?

Re: Question for domestic girls
Try Bon Ami (89 cents a can). It looks like Comet but it's non-abrasive. you can also use it on your glass pans and it won't scratch.
I also use it in the bathtub, for the tile walls, and sinks.
Oh, and it will also remove scuff marks from car bumpers
I learned all of this from my FMIL.

Thank you!! my pots are only 2 years old, and they look like theyve been to hell & back already.
do you just sprinkle it on and use a scrubby brush?

Re: Question for domestic girls
it's old school, but if you make a paste out of water and baking soda, apply to the area, lightlty scrub, leave it for a few minutes, then rinse off with a scrubby Scotchbrite sponge, that might work too. It's safe for the non stick surfaces and it won't scratch either

My pots are 2 years old too and one of them already has the handle ready to fall off...LOL and this isn't a recent thing either. It's been like this for months...
