question for girls who are doing a donation instead of a favor

we are donating money to a charity instead of favors & i just had a quick question for those girls who are doing that too... are you guys putting cards on all the tables stating 'in lieu of favors the bride & groom bla bla bla' OR are you giving everyone a scroll or something that says that?

i want to do the scrolls but do you think it would be okay to give one to each family/couple instead of each person?!? i'm trying to save me some work!!! lol

I think I'm going to put together a small bag of chocolates or something and attach a card that says in leu of a favor blah blah blah... I'm sure however you do it, it'll be fine

We donated to St. Judes Children's Hospital. They sent us bookmarks that we put on each plate at the reception. I don't think it's a big deal if you only put one out for each couple...

I was thinking of doing this also. I thought a lot of people throw out the favors and at least if we are donating to a charity it is going to a good cause. I was going to donate to the American Cancer Society because my mother died from lung cancer. I e-mailed them and they said they can actually give me scrolls with things printed on them, but if you do that you have to pay $3 per scroll. So I was thinking of maybe doing one per couple. Or I guess I could donate and not take their scrolls and just print something up myself too. I'm undecided right now though...

Im not a big fan of the scrolls... people never take them and they just end up being a mess all over teh tables... maybe just put up a big sign in a nice frame on the place card table that says what your donating to etc. and give chocolates or something...

I'm a 4th year veterinary student and by the time of my wedding I'll have my DVM, so I think we are going to donate to the ASPCA...how about u?

I was thinking about putting a sign in the frame on each table. But Im afraid people won't see it or pay attention to it and wonder where the favors are.
Im doing scrolls. But just doing them on my computer at home.

Im donating to Susn G Komen breast cancer foundation. Mom passed away 4 years ago of breast cancer.

I went to vista print and made up some cards for the tables. Then I bought some inexpensive place card holders. I'll do 3 per table, so that hopefully everyone will see it. My thought is that every penny that I spend on the presentation of the donation, the less the donation will be. So I only spend about $60 on the presentation part. We making a donation to Heifer International (I love that the word 'heifer' will be on the table at my wedding)

We are doing donations. I haven't found out for sure if our charity provides us with information for our guests or if we will make them ourselves. If provided by charity we will tell them our exact number and put one per place setting. If making ourselves I may just do a tabletop presentation of the information instead of individual. I think as long as you make people aware it would not matter the specifics (individual,couple,table)!

We are giving one scroll to each person but from the charity we are donating to, they are sending them to us so it really won't be any extra work for us. Find out if your's does the same!

we are actually doing a donation table. we picked 5 organizations and we are letting the guests decide which one we donate to in their name.

We're donating to the MS Society but I'm using the wording from that website which means we are making our own scrolls completely, we're doing one per place setting
