Question for girls who blocked rooms.....

did you ever run into a situation where you couldn't add rooms to your block?? how did you handle it if you ran out? did u leave it up to your guests to look for other hotels, or did you offer suggestions. Problem is, I don't know who is going to lose out yet

Re: Question for girls who blocked rooms.....

unfortunately i went through this exact thing..... although i sent out my invitations well in advance some friends and family thought it would be ok to wait till the last minute. Well the hotel double blocked the weekend of our wedding with a girls travel soccer tournament and we were unable to add more rooms (even though we had over 40 rooms booked as it was) Luckily there was a hotel right down the street so some of our family had to stay there and most of my friends just piled into rooms together. Good luck, I'm sure everything will work out!

Re: Question for girls who blocked rooms.....

I've already checked out one of my hotels, to see if I could get a room, without being in the 'block', and the hotel is unavailable for my wedding night! I really hope my guests aren't thinking that booking a hotel is easy because it's not! They need to book before the deadline, if not I think they will be screwed.

Hopefully I blocked enough rooms for those who want to stay at the hotels I blocked!

This is including my parents who think everything will just work out.... as if they own the hotel!!

Re: Question for girls who blocked rooms.....

Yes!! I hear ya! My hotel has another big event going on, which i think is the problem. she didn't promise they could add rooms when we booked, but she just confirmed tonight, she def can't. I think I really only need 3 more, so in the grand scheme of things, it's not horrible. But, I ended up including the hotel info in a few more invitations (which I did prematurely) for OOT guests...and they are all sealed waiting to go out this Saturday.....ugh.... so I may just have to give them another suggestion if they call. Of course this is what's bothering me today!! I'm sure tomorrow will be something else ..

Re: Question for girls who blocked rooms.....

We are getting married over an hour from where we and most of family and friends live so not only do we have to stay out there but all of our wedding party and most of our family. The hotel we are staying at will only allow us to block 25 rooms. We are sending out the email to our bridal party first saying they have to get their rooms and then we are letting everyone else know about it. We have a hotel about a mile away that we can get another block there but the bridal party and the after party will be at my hotel. it sucks but I love the hotel and I figured alot of our friends can crash in eachothers rooms. The family is gonna be harder but we will figure it out.

Re: Question for girls who blocked rooms.....

We had a block at the Hilton in Melvill/Huntington. We had no problem adding rooms to the block after the final booking date for the block.People did even add rooms after the deadline at a higher rate and they switched the room into the block for the lower rate.

I worked with Annette in groups. She was wonderful and so orgazined.
