I'm having my hair trial tomorrow and I want to have it wavy for my wedding. I washed my hair this morning and was wondering if I should wash it tomorrow morning as well? Do waves hold better in freshly clean hair or day old hair? Or should I wash it again tonight? I thought I might have read somewhere that freshly clean hair is too soft to hold waves for a long period of time.
TIA

Re: Question for girls with straight hair
I'm not too sure about this you could ask your hair stylist though, they would know the best! I've heard mixed things about this...

Re: Question for girls with straight hair
i've heard that you shouldn't wash your hair because natural oils in the hair makes it look nicer and what not .. but i can't go a day without washing mine ... so ... up to u :)

Yeah, mine is so fine that I have to wash or it looks like an oil slick. To compromise: I washed the night before.

Re: Question for girls with straight hair
my stylist told me to not wash it because your hair sits well.. but i can't go a day w/o washing.. so i just washed it anyway.. and the trial came out well..

from experience, if i dont wash it everyday, it becomes oily, so my hair becomes straighter. I dont think it would hurt if u did wash it for ur trial. I am also one of those that HAVE to wash it everyday and that would stink if on my own wedding i couldnt =/

I've heard mixed things about this, too. One stylist told me to wash it the night before, and not the morning of. The other (the one I ended up hiring) said it depended on how oily each person's hair is. I ended up washing the day of the wedding and it turned out fine. I had an updo.

Re: Question for girls with straight hair
Do not wash your hair! My hair is pin straight and at my trial my stylist said I should go a day or two without washing it. I am curling my hair and she said they will hold better with a little oil.

Re: Question for girls with straight hair
alot of stylists do say not to wash it right before, and some say its ok. Your hair will be alot softer and wont hold as well but now theres so many products they can use that some dont mind if you wash it right before. I HAVE to wash my hair bc it will be VERY greasy if i dont lol...for work ive washed my hair the night before and a few times the next morning ran out and by mid-day my bangs are so greasy lol. Most of the time ill at least wash my bangs in the morning even if i wash the night before

Re: Question for girls with straight hair
I have EXTREMELY straight silky hair.. I'm sure you can wash in the morning all they need a some hair spray.. the curls stay in if they spray it while curling it

I feel like mine only gets softer if I dont wash it - personally I think it holds a wave better when its freshly washed.

Hey girls!!
I went to cosometology school..and here is my advice..
Def wash ur hair the night before not the same day...even the day of your wedding..you should get your hair blown out for the RD(if having one) and then dont wash it the next day for your wedding hair.
I do wash my hair everyday bc i have to..otherwise it would be too oily..but I am going to just wash my hair the night before the wedding.
Also...if you do wash ur hair everyday i suggest you switching shampoos bc your hair gets immune to the same shampoo after awhile and it gets oily quicker. Even if you change shampoos for like 3 days and went back to your regular one once a month.
and one more thing
DO NOT FLAT IRON YOUR HAIR IF YOU ARE HAVING CURLS PUT IN!..The curls will not stay.
GOod luck!!!

the shampoo thing is so true, after a while i have to change it up bc doesnt have the same effect.
Since i am having extensions put into my hair the day of, i think ill wash the night before and then just wash my bangs in the morning.

Aah good advice.. I have naturally curly hair and usually straight iron it, but i want some curls for the wedding.. So ill just blow it out and they can use the curling iron.
As for washing vs not washing you should try washing the night before the trial and ask when you get there what she suggests for the day of. That way she will know your hair and see how much oils build up over night.
