Re: Question for Jack & Rose Brides
Was it around when you gave your deposit or closer to the wedding date? Do you remember? Thanks.

Re: Question for Jack & Rose Brides
Hi. I received the initial contract about 1 week after I sent in my deposit. We are supposed to get a final contract after we do our design session.

Re: Question for Jack & Rose Brides
What is the difference between the initial and the final contract? Thanks.

Re: Question for Jack & Rose Brides
He typed up the contract (or is this just the written quote) at our first meeting, made hand-written edits when I dropped off my deposit. Our design session is in 3 weeks, so I expect to get a final contract then. I'll wait if I have too. I want to make sure everything is clear and IN writing.

That is how lots of vendors get by. If you are booking them, that should be a contract if both parties have signed for it. With any vendor, I suggest that you read not only the fine print but that you MUST get everything IN WRITING and make sure you go over every little detail with them. That way no surprises for you and you know exactly what you are paying for and what you are getting. I haven't booked a florist yet but I'm quite sure that when I do book one, we will go in detail of what I want and do not want listed in the contract.

hmmm.... I was under the impression that the paper I got and signed at the initial booking was our 'contract'.

Re: Question for Jack & Rose Brides
The day my husband & I gave him our final deposit he sat there in front of us and typed away, came out with 2 copies which are around 15 pages long.
He tells you to take one home and initial everything. You have to initial like 5 times sometimes on 1 page. Then my husband had to drop it off to him.

Re: Question for Jack & Rose Brides
UGH! This whole 'official contract' vs 'unofficial contract' makes me so mad!
We booked with J&R back in April and all we got was a document (maybe 4-5 pages long) which included all sorts of information regarding procedures, etc. On the first page is where we were given our quote with everything itemized. We took this home and read through everything... then when we came back and asked for an official contract, Jack told us that this was the contract. We left a deposit and he hand wrote everything including the deposit and remaining balance and then signed it... Is this not the official contract? I am going for my design session on 11/16 - should I be expecting to put up a fight?
Someone please FM me with your experiences and advice.
