Question for ladies getting married in Catholic church
I am already impatient and I want to get the invites for my wedding ... My parents have seen and approve, everyone who has seen loves them... but, my question is...
Does the church have to see them or approve of them for any special reason? We've met with the priest one time, deposit is down and we are aware that we need to do our FOCCUS test and pre-cana....
Has anyone had any issues with their church?

Re: Question for ladies getting married in Catholic church
im catholic and he is lutheran, we are going to have ceremony at his church. We showed the pastor out of respect, but its not necessary. As long as you are confirmed with your date and time of ceremony and its in writing with them then you are all set.
*think of it this way, you dont have to show your RH the invitations, you dont have to show the church either*

Thank you, yea, he is lutheran now but getting confirmed, baptized all that by Easter time... I will call the church tomorrow to confirm our date and time even though we already put a deposit...

I think I'm just gonna call and confirm date and time, mention I'm ordering invites, etc.

I don't think you need to confirm but maybe wait incase they ever have to change the time.

Wow...I have NEVER heard of showing the church your invitations. I'd just call the registrar's office and make sure you are 'in the book.'

Re: Question for ladies getting married in Catholic church
I don't think the priest needs to approve the invitation but I would honestly wait until after you meet with the priest again and go over every detail and make sure that nothing is going to change - especially the time. You don't want to order invitations that say 3:00pm and then something comes up and it's moved to 4:00pm, ya know?
That's why I am going to wait until after we meet with the church next month to registered for Pre-cana and talk to the priest at the church and make sure everything is set in stone.

I didn't show them the actual invite but I did make sure we were in 'the book' and double checked w/ them the correct way to put the name of the church on the invite.

Good idea, I'm just afraid that the invites will disappear off the site (ordering from Vistaprint because I refuse to pay over $150 for something that will be thrown away) .... plus they will match my Saves too..

Re: Question for ladies getting married in Catholic church
you 100% do NOT have to show the church your invite. if you are getting married in a church it is common curtesy to invite your priest so he would get aninvite at the samr time you send all of the others out.

Vistaprint's stock stays pretty solid I feel. If anything they just add on more stuff to the options they already have. I think you should be good. If you are worried than maybe call up the company and see if the particular invite that you are thinking of purchasing is in any danger of being discontinued
