Question for Milleridge Cottage Brides!!

Question for Milleridge Cottage Brides!!

We just cancelled with Thatched Cottage and re-booked at Milleridge-we are so excited & relieved. We are debating about where to hold our ceremony (no church)-I'm wondering if anyone is planning on a ceremony at the Planting Fields Arboretum in Oyster Bay, or if most non-church/temple/etc brides are getting married at Milleridge Cottage? I love the atrium room and I'd prefer to get married in there, but my fiance really wants lots of flowers and an outdoor ceremony. I'm less than thrilled with the outdoor area for ceremonies at Milleridge solely because there isn't a brick walkway and I don't want my shoes or my BMs shoes to get all stuck in the grass. Thanks in advance!

Hi! I am sorry to hear about the Thatched Cottage, but you are in great hands at the Milleridge! I am getting married there in the Atrium actually, with the cocktail hour and ceremony right after. I did originally want to do the ceremony outside as well, but the atrium is just so nice that I am completely in love with the idea of the ceremony in there. I don't know if you've heard but there is a bridal showcase being held at the Cottage on February 20th from 6-9 pm. You can bring anyone with you and taste all the food/drinks. It's so great!

I love the way the atrium looks when they set it up for the ceremony :) And because of the floor-to-ceiling windows, you get SOO much light in there! However, I feel like it would be annoying to have to shuffle guests out after the ceremony to set up for the cocktail hour

Planting fields is beautiful, or maybe even the roslyn duck pond could be an option for you since it's right off of the LIE and only takes like 10 mins to get to the milleridge from there. You could also look into CW post because that is right up the road. There's a gorgeous chapel in there where you can have the ceremony, and then you and the bridal party can take your pics there!

I was worried about the guests having to leave the Atrium too so that they can set up for CH, but my BM said that everyone goes out to the bar area/front of the Cottage and they start immediately serving drinks & passing hors doeuvres while a lot of the staff turn the Atrium over. He says it's so quick and they have the routine so down pat that no one ever notices!
