Ok so I have been working out for about 4 months now, 3 of those months I was eating normally and my weight and inches have stayed the same (obviously)
So for a whole month I have been watching what Ive been eating, and lost 4 lbs, but have gained in my bust, waist and hips! I measured myself tonight and I gained just under 1/2 inch in each of these areas! Whats going on?
If this helps at all, I work out 3-4 times a week, I do cardio every day from 20-30 min, and I alternate weights for legs and arms each day. I also recently started taking a cardio class and an ab class to change things up a bit. Is this normal? Im thinking I need to re-evaluate what I am eating.
Advice Please

Re: Question for my fitness gurus
This could depend on your cycle. You may be a little bloated/retaining water.
Try to force lots of water the next few days and try again
P.S. the cardio and ab class should be great! It's important to do both cardio AND strength training. Building muscle is what burns fat and gets your metabolism moving.

Re: Question for my fitness gurus
OK This may not be what you want to hear, but I'm gonna be real with you:
Your body is 90% diet, 10% exercise
So you could do all the exercise in the world, but if you're not responding to the change in eating habits you may have to keep trying to find the right mix. I'll put myself as an example-
When I'm working out alot and watching moderately I don't lose anything.. WHen I tried WW and calorie watching it didn't do much more than take 3 pounds off. WHen I did the South Beach Diet (i.e. carbophobic) I was a size thinner, and weighed 10 pounds less.
So for me, I know how I lose best. Everybody's different. SO maybe try keeping a food journal and see exactly what you're eating. I would also up the cardio by an extra 10 minutes a day.
Good luck!

Thank you! I love honest answers!
I have been doing my own version of WW, but have not really been counting since Ive been trying to load up on protein like nuts, peanut butter, etc. and they are like ridiculous points on WW.
I will try writing down exactly what I am eating since I am probably either over eating without realizing or missing something in my diet. I remember when I was on WW I would second guess if I was going to eat something because I didnt want to review my log and see that I wasted 10 points on like a cookie or something stupid lol. Lord this weekend is going to be tough since FH and I will be going away. I think I will start the writing down on Monday!

Re: Question for my fitness gurus
I think one of two things are happening.
Either your weight is shifting (rare but it happens, it tends to happen when you are taking fat off certain parts of your body so your body puts new weight in places you arent used to having it)
or
You are losing in your waste so it feels like your chest and hips are bigger.
Either way, if the pounds are coming off I would wait it out. Weight watchers was hard for me because i found it so easy to lie to myself about what i was eating with all the '1 point' and '0 points (!!!!)' foods (especially since some of them had CALORIES!) so good luck and keep it up, be proud of your 4 pounds!!! you will def get into your dress

Be careful on the nuts and peanut butter....they are protein but if you are eating too much of them then you are adding too many calories. Thats why they are high in points.
