Question for Past and Future Royalton Brides

Question for Past and Future Royalton Brides

Did you or are you planning to hire a day of planner? I would really like to not have to spend the $$$ on this but I've heard from people who got married at other venues that the DOP is priceless. I was just wondering if anyone who got married or is getting married at the Royalton felt the DOP was unnecessary given the bridal attendants and staff at the Royalton. Thanks!!!

Hey! I've been going back and forth on this one as well. Are you getting married at The Royalton, or at a church? If you are getting married at a church, I would say spring for the DOC (day of coordinator). If you are having your ceremony at The Royalton, then I think you're ok....I've been talking to a handful of past Royalton brides here and on The Knot boards, and they have all pretty much told me that the Royalton staff is stellar, and can really handle everything. Frankly, my jury is still out on this one, but I don't think I'm hiring one. And at about 3 months to go, I don't know how much more time I have to actually hire one! Good luck!!!

Thanks so much for your opinion. We're getting married at the Royalton. I would really love to avoid paying for the DOC (thanks for correcting my DOP!) if I can but of course the last thing I want is find myself and my parents running around on the wedding day coordinating vendors etc. I think that all ask the Royalton their opinion when I go back in April. Thanks again!

Re: Question for Past and Future Royalton Brides

Once you're at the Royalton, I'm sure you'll have no problem with the staff taking care of you, but I can understand wanting someone to coordinate with the church. I got married at a church and didn't have any probs there, but at the Royalton I did have a small issue that was taken care of immediately. When our band first started it was REALLY loud...like my ears hurt. So we hadn't made our entrance yet and Gerard and Michael were there when I said that, so Gerard goes ' the music is too loud? okay, no problem - hang on' and he walked in there like gang-busters and spoke to the band leader and it was fixed immediately. That was a small example, but it was nice that he didn't let it become an issue. My experience with the Royalton was really positive. I thought they paid so much attention to us and really focused making the whole day special. Good luck with your decision!!

OK, I just read (more carefully) that you're not getting married at a church - so forget that part! lol

Thanks for your opinions. I just looked at all the pictures in your albums and their goregous. Everything looks amazing. I absolutely love your dress and the dress and color you picked for your BMs. Thanks for posting the pictures!

we booked a doc, but that is because we are getting married at a church and then taking pics at old westbury gardens between the church and reception.
i dont think you should need one, but we went with ryan from above & beyond-she is amazing!
