Question for people that got marreid at the hall???
Do you do a receivein line, after the cermony or do you just go into the cocktail hour.
I am doing all pics before the ceremony and we will be in the cocktial hour, just not sure about the receving line.

We didn't, we ran late that morning and needed to do about 6 more pictures during the Cocktail hour. But even if we didn't run late we weren't going to do it because we were and did going to come out during the Cocktail hour and say hi to people!

We didn't have one. We went from the ceremony to the cocktail hour to the reception.
But we didn't do a lot of the traditional things. For example, we didn't have anyone announced at our reception. We also skipped the garter & bouquet tosses.

We didn't do a recieving line. We just made sure that throughout the night we were able to say hello to everyone at the wedding : ).

I don't think we plan on doing one. We are having our photos done during the cocktail hour, just outside of the location. I figure people will mill around outside or talk to the bridal party not in the photos at the time.

I don't want to have one either. It seems kind of weird because they are going to greet you again in the reception anyway. No one is going to come to the ceremony if they weren't invited to the reception (that sometimes happens @ a church, therefore you feel obliged to have one)
I am not seeing him before for pics so we will probably do our pictures during the cocktail hour-i'm not big on being @ the cocktail hour-i want to be introduced for the first time @ the reception! As long as FH gets food, he'll be ok!

We didn't have one but I sort of wish we did. It was hard for us to get around to everyone and it would have been the perfect time to say a quick hi to everyone. I am thinking that the food and drink just past us would help move everyone along quickly.

How do you not have one. Who will tell the guest to wait until later...?

Everyone naturally began to mingle and get food & drinks.

We don't plan on explaining ourselves.. god knows theres plenty already I'm sure a few will want to know an explanation for anyhow.
It's my wedding, I'm paying, It's my day...
As my car license cover says 'Its all about me, deal with it'
We plan a small weddding so we shouldn't be gone for long and have plenty of time to mingle.

I'm pretty sure we're doing a receiving line. Since we are taking all of our pictures before the ceremony, I thought that maybe we'd have the receiving line while people are on their way into the coctail hour. This way we see everyone on their way in.
