Question for RC brides getting married in the Diocese of Rockville Center
What is a FOCCUS session? I'm confused. We're trying to squeeze into the Sunday precanas in St John the Baptists and while filling out the registration form I see something about a necessary FOCCUS component? Is that in addition to the precana courses?

FOCCUS is a bunch of questions you and FH have to answer, it's about 100 questions and then after they score the test you have to go back and discuss the answers where you disagreed...We took the test in like an hour and then a month or two later we went back and it took an hour to go over the test HTH

Interesting - that helps, but I'm still thrown off as to when we do this? do we do this with the priest or before precana? Sorry I'm so dumb

For our Foccus test we had a meeting the week before the sessions begin--sort of an intro. We met the other couples and the married couples who will lead the sessions and then they split us to take the Foccus test. Then, a few days later, we met with one of the married couples to discuss the test. Now, we finally start real pre-cana.

We did our FOCCUS session before Christmas and are doing Engaged Encounter Weekend next week... all depends on when you want to schedule everything...

Thanks for your help ladies. Unfortunately because FH was in charge and didn't lift a finger we've waited too long and all the FOCCUS groups are filled so we have to do precana without it. It sounds interesting to me, so I'm disappointed but that's what I get for asking for his help.
Now how would that rant rate on the FOCCUS scale?

We actually did our PreCana first also, but they still made us do the FOCCUS..they just made us do it alone....so you might still have to do it!

I am doing FOCCUS this Sunday. My precana starts next Sunday and they asked that we have this completed first.

As far as I know we are just taking the test Sunday. I have no idea after that. Maybe we stick around for the results on Sunday too?? Now you have me thinking....
