Question for Scotto Brothers brides...

Who's responsibility is it to get the vendors insurance information over to the catering hall (in my case the Fox Hollow)? Do I have to call each of the vendors and tell them to fax it to them, or does the Fox Hollow call the vendors once they have their information?

Or do they not do this at all?

Re: Question for Scotto Brothers brides...

Good question that's actually on my list of questions to ask them. I'm pretty sure the vendors have to carry their insurance on them incase they are asked... I'm almost positive that's what my florist told me that about Fox Hollow (I'm getting married there too)... but like I said that's on my list of questions for them... if you find out before me, would you mind sharing and I will do the same.

My vendors said that they carry a copy of their insurance with them. I had them call Perfect Wedding Planner to work the details out.

I also got married at Fox Hollow in April, I had a copy of the vendor insurance information sheet and I gave a copy to most of my vendors or just reminded them to please send a copy of their insurance info to the hall. Not sure who is responsible, but I felt more comfortable reminding the vendors.

I love that I can help now!

I had a meeting with Perfect Wedding Planner and I gave them my vendor info and they gave me a sheet for the vendors with the details on what was need for the insurance. I called each vendor and faxed them a copy of that insurance info. Most vendors said it was on file, but I faxed it to them anyway and asked them to make sure there were no changes since they had filed last. I think PWP said they would contact me only if they did not get the required info from any vendors and I never got a call.

Long answer short - I don't know who's 'responsibility' it is, but I called all the vendors myself and asked them to make sure they had the required certificate of insurance!

I am getting married at Westbury Manor and most of the vendors said that they have worked there many of times and that WM has their insurance information on file. When I do my final meetings with the vendors, I will remind them to refax all the information to WM

Re: Question for Scotto Brothers brides...

I was told when I met with Perfect wedding planners, that I needed to contact the vendors and fax the information to them to fax to Linda at perfect wedding planner's office. But they told me that i needed to call their office back and make sure that everything was up to date with them. They said the insurance information must be up to date by a month before the party- I don't know anything about vendors carrying around their insurance info?
Anyway, that's what the girl said. So it's basically our responsibility to make sure the vendors take care of their responsilibity
Anyone using their vendors? I met with Pedestals and I liked them.

The only vendor of theirs that I am using is Royalty.

I got an update about the insurance. Basically we should have the vendors fax over their insurance policy to the reception hall about a month before the wedding. If a vendor does not have insurance we have to sign a waiver saying that we will not hold the reception hall responsible if something one of our vendors does hurts someone.

In other words, don't let your photographer drop their camera on someone's head and you'll be alright.
