Question for Smithtown residents -about the Xmas Fire Truck 'parade'

In regards to the Smithtown Fire Truck Christmas 'parade'

Since I'm in the Commack Fire District, yet have a Smithtown address, they dont pass in front of my house. Does anyone know what time they leave the fire station ?
We may go to my cousins house, but since they get to her block late, we may go near the Daffy's shopping center/by the fire station, to see them first coming out. Does anyone have tips on where is best to park. I dont see much chance of getting a great spot where we can stay in the car (We'll have 2 toddlers and 2 infants)...
We might just be better off going to my cousins house and keeping the kids up late ??

I don't know the answer to this yet, but I will try my best to find out for you. My dad is in the Nesconset FD and he knows a bunch of guys from the SFD. I'll see if he has an answer for me (you)!

Kelly

Oh I am so jealous. I grew up in Smithtown and used to love watching the fire trucks. My entire family used to come over from upstate and watch the trucks with me.

Re: Question for Smithtown residents -about the Xmas Fire Truck 'parade'

Hey, what night is the parade? I also grew up in Commack and we used to go watch it all the time, as it went right by where my high school boyfriend used to live...there was a house on the corner of Foothill Drive that another of my hs classmates lived in and they always decorated the whole place in thousands of lights, etc! I heard (from lisat, actually) that they have since moved...oh well.

I will be back up in NY on Saturday and would love to see the parade, if possible. Please let me know! Thanks!

Allison,

The family from Foothill Drive did move. My dad used to work with the owner of the house. It was so pretty at that house though. I would drive past there all the time.
