question for social worker or anyone in the mental health profession

i am starting a new job in july & am in need of books or activities i can use in group and individual therapy with mentally handicapped adults... i have worked with this population before, just never on a clinical level so i def want to buy some books and stuff so i can get ideas of group/individual work i can do with my clients.

i know amazon.com is a good site - i'm about to check it out now... but any other suggestions would be great!!

TIA

hi, I saw your post and I just wanted to comment quick to say 'handicapped' is no longer politically collect!

I just happen to know this because I work with individuals with disabilities and 'handicap' derives from the term 'hand in cap', like when beggers hold out their hats and ask for money.

Just a little bit of random knowledge I thought I'd share since it's relevant to your profession Good luck on finding the new job!

i actually know this already b/c i worked for AHRC for 3 years & right before i left they actually changed their mission to reflect using 'developmentally disabled' instead of 'mentally handicapped'. MH is the most popular prase that people know so thats why i used MH instead of DD
