ok now i'm getting realllllly scared...For starters, I have a major major FEAR of flying, with that said, I know it's too early for me to book the flights but I was just looking out of curiousity and seriously I saw like 1 nonstop flight but most of them you have to switch over and because of that it takes like 12 hours it seems like because theres a huge time difference between each flight....I don't want to waste 1 whole day in the air and get to our HM late at night....what are you girls doing, has any1 booked their flights yet??

We haven't booked our flights yet but JetBlue flys direct on certain days I believe Mondays and Thursdays but others wise you have to fly american and either stop in Miami or San Juan

Ugh! I hear you! FI and I were planning on St. Lucia until we found out about the crazy flying time. Now I'm not sure what we'll do. We only have one week, maybe 1-2 days more, and we don't want to waste all that time flying either. Let me know if you find some magical loophole! :)

Ok did some research. Jet Blue is beginning to offer a non-stop flight from JFK to St. Lucia starting in late October of this year. They will travel 3 days a week. Sunday, Monday, and Thursdays.
Our flight is from NY to Atlanta to St. Lucia. There's only an hour layover in Atlanta. We're leaving NY at 6 am and getting to St. Lucia by 2:00. We actually ended up adding an extra day to our honeymoon - but with the Sandals sales we actually got a day for free so it all worked out.

This is exactly what we ended up doing...the sale price allowed us to add a night for free so that really helped...
and we're flying out of florida cuz were going to disney first, but we have to connect in miami and then its only an hour layover til we leave again....
i think we leave at 7:15 and we get to st lucia at 1:55....not entirely bad, could be worse there were some flights that had us leaving at 7 and not getting to st lucia til 8pm!

that's true... we were on line last night and if you book through sandlas.... the trip to st lucia is NOT a long one... they do require a lay over in FL... but its not a long wait at all... i think the airline is AA
