I am an ESL teacher. I don't really see other teachers outside school but I do talk to them during school hours. Is it appropriate for me to pick and choose and invite some of these people or should I not invite anyone from school?
I am a school consultant - and I know many teachers who just invite a few they work closely with, and everyone understands - you can't be friendly with everyone!!!
I intend on inviting the people who I socialize with and am close with...it's definitely up to you.
I am only inviting the teachers that I see outside of school. You can definitely pick and choose.

I have 15 teachers I AM really close to.
the 15 times 2 for their husbands or bfs/gfs
my dept is huge so 15 is cutting it down but it is till alot. i am not sure what i am going to do so i didnt send them stds, so i still hve time to fig out what i need to do and if i wil have enough $$ to invite them

I am in the exact situation. My dept is also huge. I am planning on inviting pretty much everyone in the dept. Besides why new guy who probably won't be there next year since he is a maternity leave replacement. I think it would be so hard to not invite some people from the dept. But the number is huge. Hoping some making plans for a vacation in July. I'm so bad!
Holy smokes I thought your dept was 15 people. Wow your dept is big! I thought mine was at 12. How many teachers are there in your dept?
I teach phys ed, so Im friends with all the teachers. I decided not to invite any. I didnt want to hurt anyones feelings. I told them I was just inviting family.
I teach first grade dual language so I am an ESL teacher for one period a day. I work with another teach whom I have grown close to. I socialize at work but I am close with my partner. She is the only one I am inviting. In order to avoid offending anyone I did not invited anyone else.
I'm not inviting anyone. I just started in September and I'm already inviting a bunch of people from my old job where I've been for about 4 years and have a lot of friends..and narrowing that down was hard enough!
