I found an online school that has NCATE acrreditation and was wondering what you thought of the school. I would do my undergrad degree there. Then I would get my masters iin a NY school in special education.

you can get your undergrad in anything and then do the masters in ed. anywhere

Do whatever is easiest for you. To teach in NYC, the education you need is a bachelor's and 18 credits in education (can be part of the bachelor's but doesn't have to be). It doesn't matter where they're from. Just do whatever gets you the credits most conveniently.
